Information about the surrounding area

Q. Is there a convenience store nearby?

We apologize, but there are no convenience stores near our inn. However, there are liquor stores, greengrocers, restaurants, and souvenir shops in the hot spring town, and we recommend you visit those. The closest convenience store to our inn is the Lawson located in front of Yudanaka Station (a 5-minute drive).

Q. Are the nearby souvenir shops open from the morning?

Yes, some souvenir shops in the hot spring town are open as early as 7:00 AM.

Q. Should I use the prayer towel when I take a bath?

The prayer towels you can purchase when visiting the nine hot springs are like stamp rally sheets where you can collect stamps from the nine public baths and an extra bath. You can use them, but if you use them while bathing, the stamps from the public baths will smudge. We recommend storing them away from hot spring water.

Q. Can I wash my body in the public baths?

We apologize, but the public baths in the Shibu Onsen area do not have facilities for washing. If you wish to wash yourself, please use our hotel's large public bath.

Q. Is the outdoor bath hot?

The water temperature at the hot spring source is around 55 to 65 degrees Celsius, so it is very hot. The outdoor baths use free-flowing hot spring water, so some areas can be as hot as 45 to 50 degrees Celsius. Therefore, please be sure to check the water temperature before entering. You can also add cold water to adjust the temperature.

Q. Can you play table tennis?

Yes, we have facilities available for you to use. However, we do not have a table tennis room at our hotel, so we recommend "Karen Kaikan," which is located nearby.
